kW

Also called: kilowatt A kilowatt, or kW, is a unit of power equal to 1,000 watts. In EV charging it describes the rate at which electrical energy is being transferred, or the maximum rate equipment is designed to deliver or accept. A 7 kW charge point and a 150 kW charge point differ in power, not energy capacity. How much energy reaches the vehicle depends on how long that power is maintained. kW should not be confused with kWh. Power is a rate; kWh measures energy.
