BalanSea

Charger-to-Charger Load Management Software Stack

Take the complexity out of installs. BalanSea intelligently balances power between the chargers on a site for comprehensive on-site EV charger load management, with no additional hardware or software required.

Inter-charger balancing

Site supply 100 A limit EV 1 25 A EV 2 25 A EV 3 25 A EV 4 25 A

The chargers agree the split between themselves - four cars share a 100 A limit evenly at 25 A each, with no central controller.

What it is

Load management that lives in the chargers themselves

Most load management asks you to fit and configure an extra controller on site. BalanSea takes the complexity out of installs: it is a software stack that runs on the chargers themselves, so they balance power between one another - charger-to-charger - and the whole site stays inside its supply limit.

BalanSea provides both static and dynamic load management, makes groups of chargers easy to manage, and can bring external metering into its dynamic load management decisions. Because the intelligence is in the chargers, there is no additional hardware or software to buy, mount or maintain.

Feature overview

  • Minimal setup requirements - take the complexity out of installs
  • Static and dynamic load management (DLM) in one stack
  • Balances on-site, charger-to-charger - no central controller
  • Easy management of groups of chargers
  • Uses external metering as part of dynamic load management
  • No additional hardware or software required
  • Exclusively for chargers built on Versinetic EV charger hardware

Worked example

Four chargers, one 100 A limit

Here is BalanSea doing its job on a typical small site - keeping every car charging as fast as the supply allows, without ever tripping the site limit.

01

Three cars charging

A site runs four chargers under a 100 A supply limit. Three chargers are in use, and BalanSea holds each at 32 A - comfortably inside the limit.

02

A fourth car arrives

The fourth car plugs into the remaining charger. Without load management, the site would now be asking for more power than the supply can deliver.

03

BalanSea rebalances

BalanSea intelligently reduces the power going to the first three chargers so site power is distributed evenly - all four charge at 25 A, and the site never exceeds its limit.

Which load manager?

BalanSea or LinkRay?

Versinetic offers two routes to a balanced site. The right one depends on whose chargers you are running.

Software · In the charger

BalanSea

A charger-to-charger software stack for chargers built on Versinetic hardware. The chargers balance between themselves - no extra box on the wall, minimal setup, static and dynamic load management included.

Hardware · On the site

A standalone local load balancing module for sites running any OCPP-compatible chargers - up to 100 AC and DC units (6400 when combined with SiteManager), across mixed brands, subscription-free. The choice for existing or multi-vendor sites.
