Our engineers have been designing charge point electronics, firmware and communications for more than ten years - from the electronics behind charging stations at the London 2012 Olympics to a fully integrated Vehicle-to-Grid system. Six stages from concept to shipping product

Every engagement is scoped to your product, but the shape is consistent: understand and de-risk first, build on proven foundations, design for manufacture, prove compliance, then scale - and take the proven product into new sectors.

STAGE 01

Feasibility & scoping

We start by understanding your product under the umbrella of customer expectation, budget, deadlines and product lifecycle - then map the standards landscape and the technical risks. Up-front research and planning are what separate a great concept from a brilliant product, so we work out potential problems before development begins and agree the fastest, lowest-risk route to market. You own the resulting end report, with no tie-ins.

STAGE 02

Architecture & prototyping

We decide where the proven charging modules accelerate your journey and where bespoke engineering is needed - then design hardware, firmware and communications protocols together, not in isolation. Starting from proven controllers rather than a blank sheet means you reach a working prototype faster and on solid foundations.

STAGE 03

Design for manufacture & BOM

A product only succeeds if it can be built repeatably and economically. We engineer for manufacture from the outset - driving toward a minimal bill of materials, designing in cost and compliance, and choosing components with a resilient supply chain so production is not held hostage by a single part.

STAGE 04

Certification & compliance

Connected chargers live or die by standards. We build to the relevant protocols and regulations - OCPP, ISO 15118 / Plug & Charge, IEC 61851 and G100 among them - and prove interoperability through structured testing, including at industry Plugfests, so certification does not become a late, expensive surprise.

STAGE 05

Route to volume & production support

When the design is proven we take it to volume. Trusted subcontract partners provide turn-key support - buying parts, manufacturing, testing and boxing your product ready for shipment - while our engineers stay available for the production ramp and ongoing lifecycle support.

STAGE 06

Sector expansion

A charger proven in one setting rarely stays there. We help you take a shipping product into new markets - apartments and multi-dwelling buildings, fleet and depot charging, and public charging networks - adapting hardware, software and load management for each sector rather than starting again.

On intellectual property in particular, build under licence sets out exactly what can be licensed and what stays yours.

Can we engage you for one stage only?

Yes. Feasibility studies are frequently standalone, and you own the resulting report with no tie-in.

What if we have our own engineering team?

Then we work alongside them. Most engagements are collaborative rather than outsourced, and the integrated hardware and firmware team is usually why clients come to us rather than why they hand over.

Who owns the intellectual property?

You do, for the bespoke work. Licensed modules stay ours and are licensed to you. Scoping makes that boundary explicit before development starts.
