On street is the hardest place to keep a charger running. The supply is limited and usually shared. The cabinet is unattended, so every fault means a van and a traffic management plan. Payment has to work first time for a driver who has never used that unit before. And the compliance goalposts moved in 2021 and move again in 2026.

Versinetic supplies the electronics inside AC public charge points: the charge controller boards, the load balancing and the payment hardware. Our boards comply with the UK Electric Vehicle Smart Charge Point Regulations, speak OCPP to whichever back office you already run, and can be configured and diagnosed remotely, so a fault does not automatically become a site visit.

What a kerbside site actually needs

Working inside the supply you already have

LinkRay measures what a feed is drawing and shares the remaining capacity across the charge points on it, which is often the difference between installing four units and installing twelve. One LinkRay handles up to 100 chargers on a single monitoring point. Where a site has several transformers or switchboards, SiteManager coordinates up to 64 LinkRay units across them.

Payment a first time user can complete

Contactless payment with per session metering, through our payment terminal, which the 2021 regulations require on new public charge points. No app, no account, and no reader that works only with one network.

Uptime without a site visit

Remote monitoring, configuration and firmware updates. An on street callout costs far more than the fault usually warrants, so most of the value of a controller sits in the visits it prevents.

Standards that will still be valid next year

OCPP for the back office, ISO 15118 and Plug and Charge where Plug and Charge is wanted, IEC 61851 for the charging interface, and compliance with the UK regulatory changes due in 2026 and 2027. We track the standards work so you do not have to.

Whichever back office you already use

Our controllers communicate over OCPP, so you keep the platform you have. We do not sell a charge point management system and we are not trying to move you onto one.

The grid connection is usually the real constraint

A G100 limit determines how much power a site may import or export, and a network reinforcement can cost more than every charger on the scheme put together. Load balancing is how the charge points fit inside the connection you already have rather than the one you would need to buy.

Our site capacity check will tell you how many chargers a supply will carry, before anyone commissions a design.
