Its modular architecture lets manufacturers customise and extend the software, with interchangeable modules and an active developer community keeping it aligned with evolving standards.

What licence does EVerest use?

EVerest is released under the open-source Apache-2.0 licence, so you can access and modify the source to add bespoke features and fit it to your own IP.

Can EVerest run on low-power microcontrollers?

EVerest is designed for Linux-based systems (MPU). For lower-power MCU applications we typically recommend a hybrid approach or our bespoke lightweight stacks, depending on your ISO 15118 requirements.

Does Versinetic support EVerest on non-Versinetic hardware?

Yes. Our charging modules provide the fastest route, but we provide consultancy and porting services for clients with their own proprietary ARM or x86-based charging hardware.

How does EVerest handle ISO 15118-20 bi-directional charging?

EVerest includes modules for V2G, but physical implementation requires specific hardware support for AC or DC switching. We provide the logic and driver integration to manage these power flows safely.

What needs tailoring to reach production?

In its standard form EVerest needs work to become production-ready - typically networking, and security such as secure boot, encryption and device lockdown, alongside hardware abstraction for your specific boards.
