Guess-o-meter

Also called GOM · range estimator

Guess-o-meter is driver slang for the remaining-range estimate shown by an electric vehicle.

The nickname reflects the fact that the predicted distance changes as the vehicle's energy consumption changes. A range estimator can use state of charge, recent efficiency, temperature, route or climate-control demand depending on the vehicle.

The figure is an estimate rather than a direct measurement of miles physically stored in the battery. H
