EVCC

Also called Electric Vehicle Communication Controller

An Electric Vehicle Communication Controller, or EVCC, is the communication controller on the vehicle side of the ISO 15118 interface.

It exchanges high-level charging messages with the Supply Equipment Communication Controller in the EVSE. ISO 15118 uses the EVCC and SECC relationship to establish IP-based communication for functions including charging control, identification and Plug & Charge.

The EVCC is not the vehicle's battery-management system. It is the communication endpoint for the EV-to-EVSE protocol, although it exchanges information with other vehicle systems to complete a charging session.
